UK Prime Minister David Cameron at the Social Impact Investment Forum
UK Prime Minister David Cameron has spoken out about the importance of social investment in order to tackle issues such as homelessness, drug abuse and youth unemployment.
Appearing at the Social Impact Investment Forum, he said: "Social enterprises, charities and voluntary bodies often have the knowledge, the human touch, the personal commitment to succeed where governments so often fail.
"We need social investment banks, social investment bonds."
He added that the Big Society Capital bank would help "brilliant social capital entrepreneurs with dreams bigger than their budgets".
